The PDF in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents" can lag behind the most up-to-date PDF, espcially if you made recent changes.   I'll tell you how you can open your return to print the up-to-date PDFs.

NOTE:  When you open your return back up, do not make any changes in it since it's aleady been filed.
  • Log in and go to "Your Tax Returns & Documents."  Click that line or on the word SHOW to expand that section.
  • Choose 2017 tax year.
  • Click on "Add a State."  (you don't really add one.  That's just to open your return back up.)
  • When the return is open and past the blue-green screen, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then PRINT CENTER.
  • Then choose "Print, save, view this year's return."
  • The next screen should offer 3 PDF options:  "Just my tax returns", or "include government worksheets (optional)", or "include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)"
  • See if those have the most current version.

NOTE:  Do NOT use this method to open a return to make changes/edits to an already-filed return (one that has actually been mailed or efiled.)   If you later need to make changes to an already-filed return, you have to go through the formal amending process, and your return must start off exactly as originally filed.

You're welcome.  Good luck.

My file was rejected, I resent, because all was corrected, now the file to print is the old one that was rejected.....

how do you correct the problem so that it transfers over to the pdf that goes to the irs and to the one that prints out? I have my info corrected but it is not changing anything that is being sent or when it prints out.

We don't know what all you have done and what you are trying to do.  You're posting in someone else's thread, and your situation may or may not even be exactly the same.  I suspect there's more to the story.

This thread is about how to download/print a current PDF for one's records.   The answer below tells how to download/print the most current PDFs by opening the return back up and going to the Print Center to get the most-current PDFs.   That will show you what was efiled and sent to the IRS.  Or are you printing to file by mail?

You're posting in someone else's already-answered thread and haven't explained anything about what all you are doing.   What is your situation? Is your situation the same as the topic in this thread?    i.e., have you already filed, and it was rejected, so you corrected something and resubmitted it?  And are you now wanting an up-to-date PDF for your records?   That is what is addressed in the answer below.

If your situation is different, such as needing help fixing a rejection error, then at the link below you can start a thread about your issue where you can be questioned and explain your situation in full.  When you go to the form at the link, the first box is for a summary of your question, like a title, and is limited to 170 characters..  If you need more room, lower on the form you will come to another box with plenty of room to enter details.    This is a public Internet forum, so don't post any personal info.

NOTE:  Remember all PDF tax documents and tax data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc.  Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.
