My fiance claimed our daughter, what information do I need to provide the IRS? I am not trying to claim her since she already has been claimed.

My fiance claimed our daughter as her dependent, which was agreed upon by the both of us. Do I have to input her information as well or should I file my taxes as i would if i didnt have her?

If you and your fiance live together and your fiance is claiming your daughter, you leave her off your tax return entirely.

Your fiance cannot claim your daughter if you are filing a tax return.

Reason: she is the qualifying child of another taxpayer (you).

See IRS Pub 501 Table 5.

It says her finance claimed OUR daughter. It was my assumption that they are both the parents of the daughter so she could be the qualifying child of either of them.

Yes we are both the parents of our daughter so she qualifies to claim her on her own taxes, it was our agreement that she would claim her
