What is your question?
I need to know how to remove this, since I am in the understanding that only one parent gets the stimulus per child. I can not figure out how to opt out of the stimulus payment part but keep the child tax credit portion.
@mammapato Actually there is a loophole. If the stimulus was given to your ex based on claiming the child for 2020, your ex does not have to pay it back. The IRS had to hurry to send out those checks. But the stimulus was really an advance on a credit you get on a 2021 tax return. So if you are claiming that child for 2021, you do get the stimulus for him. it's good news for you.
