My employer does not offer health insurance. In 2020, I purchased my own "grandfathered" plan. The premiums were over $8,000 this year. Where do I enter this?

I also have additional charges for medical expenses on top of insurance premiums.

I didn't get a 1095A form. But I'm Grandfathered in. What form do I provide with my

federal taxes?

You will not enter any form.  The 1095-A is the only one that is required. You can confirm that you did not get one by completeing these steps

  1. On the black menu bar on the left that shows.
    1. My Info
    2. Federal
    3. State
    4. Review
    5. File
  2. Select Tax Tools
  3. On the drop-down select Tools
  4. There are 4 green boxes
  5. Select Topic Search
  6. Type “1095 A”
  7. Before we ask about your Form 1095-A, we need to ask about some other information = Answer appropriately.
  8. Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan? = Answer appropriately.

It doesn't allow me to get to step #2 Tax Tools... I don't have Tax tools as an option.

I retired Dec 2013 and have been buying the same insurance that I had while I worked.

Is that considered Grandfathered in?

Again, I don't get a 1095A. Never have. I get a cover letter from my old employer telling me to go online and sigh up every December.

Let's try another way

  1. Go to Deductions & Credits
  2. Scroll down to Medical  HSA, MSA contributions, prescriptions, medical bills, ACA > Show more
  3. Select Affordable Care act (Form 1095-A)
  4. Before we ask about your Form 1095-A, we need to ask about some other information = Answer appropriately.
