My employer deducts my licensing fees

My employer had to incurr in licensing fees during my hire. These costs accrued to $384.50 for which I am responsible if I leave employment within 90 days(which I am going to do). My question is, can my employer deduct that from my post-tax income, or does it have to be deducted from my pre-tax? I am trying to get a grasp on what my last paycheck should look like once I leave.

You should discuss this with your employer, but probably have it deducted pre-tax since employee expenses are no longer deductible after tax reform (the TCJA).

@cruizv00 it is to your advantage if the employer deducts it pre-tax.  However, there are rules on what an employer can deduct pre-tax and he is going to have to follow them.
