My daughter who is 20 years old only made $957.85 last year. I did not claim her because it did not change anything. If she files on her own, will she get money?

Per IRS requirements, she is not required to file.  She will only get money back if her employer withheld any taxes from her pay.  If she received a Form W-2, check if there is any amount in box 2 or 17.  She might be able to re-claim a refund by filing a tax return.

If she files her own return she would still have to check the box that says she CAN be claimed on someone else's return, even if you choose not to claim her.  Are you sure it wouldn't change your return to claim her?
