My daughter received a scholarship from a church, a non profit, is it entered in the school section or not counted since it is from a non profit?

There is not a 1098T for this scholarship

It is suppose to be entered in the school section.  If the scholarship was not specific as to type of expenses to be paid with it, apply to room and board if possible. Room and Board do not qualify for the Education Scholarships.  You want to make sure you have at least $4000 of qualifying expenses in order to receive the maximum American Opportunity Credit amount.
