Then you can likely claim her and perhaps the child (if born in 2016), as long as you provided more than 50% of her support (including housing, utilities, etc) for the year. Or did she live with another adult, such as the child's father?

How old is she? Married? Was her 2016 income more than $4,050?

Only if she lived with him for all of 2016.  Otherwise, he can't claim the daughter, although he could probably claim the child.

If you did not provide over half your daughter's support and she didn't live with the father for the full year then you cannot claim your daughter but then she can file a return claiming herself and her child.  If she does that then the child's father obviously cannot claim the child.

Appears daughter had no income.
