Need more information.  How old is she?  Was she a full time student for at least 5 months in 2024?  Did she have gross income in 2024 of $5,050 or more?

List your daughter as your dependent if she is your qualifying child.  The link below explains the details of claiming your child and is printed for you here. This assumes the baby had not been born as of now.

Qualifying child:

  • They're related to you.
  • They aren't claimed as a dependent by someone else.
  • They're a US citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident.
  • They aren’t filing a joint return with their spouse.
  • They're under the age of 19 (or 24 for full-time students).
    • There's no age limit for permanently and totally disabled children
  • They lived with you for more than half the year (exceptions apply).
  • They didn't provide more than half of their own support for the year.

In 2025, when the baby is born, you will review the details again to see who is eligible to claim both your daughter and the baby.
