My daughter graduated from college in 2016 and also worked a full -time job for four months. Can I still claim her on 2016 return?

She had financial aid to help fund her education.

Yes, you can claim your daughter if she is under 24 and full time student, lived with your for more than half of the year (being away for college counts as living with you) and she didn't provide more than half of her own support.

If she doesn't meet above qualifications, she can still be your dependent if she lived with your entire year (again, being away for college counts as living with you), her gross income for the year is less than $4,050 and You provided more than half of her support for the year.

I recommend that you enter her information into TurboTax, the program will help you determine if she qualifies as your dependent.

Note: Scholarships received by your child is not included in total support, other financial aid is...
