if the child CAN be claimed by you, but you decide not to claim him, the child still is ineligible for the stimulus.

if you are not married and if you have only one eligible dependent and don't claim them. you would lose head of household filing status so if you have more income than the amount of deduction you use (standard or itemized) you will likely pay more in income taxes.
