What is your filing status, Single, Head of Household, Married Filing Jointly, Married Filing Separately?
Married Filing Jointly
It is possible that you received an advance of the child tax credit are, therefore, you are only receiving the balance you are due.
When you enter your personal and dependent information TurboTax calculates your Child Tax Credit (CTC). Initially, TurboTax calculates your return as if you received the entire amount of CTC you were eligible to receive and no credit is applied. You will need to enter the amount of CTC you received, this will allow TurboTax to calculate any additional CTC you are entitled to and TurboTax will apply that credit to your tax return.
No, but I did take a distribution from my 401k that would have pushed me over the $150,000 limit. Could that have been it?
Yes, if the 401K distribution put you over the agi limit that would cause a reduction in your child tax credit.
