My adjusted income is less than the standard deduction. Do I file a return, file an informational return with no taxes due or payable? Can I do it electronically?

Yes, you can file a tax return with no refund and no tax return and you can e-file your return if there is gross income reported.

However, you are not required to file a return if your income is below certain levels.
