As per Turbo Tax's instructions:
"...If you're e-filing, you only need to mail copies of your 8949 along with Form 8453 if:
I am FORCED to enter a summary due to TurboTax's limit on how many transactions it can handle. As a result I am instructed to mail in an 8949. I did the calculations on how many pages that would come out to and the total weight of all my transactions would be over 40 lbs to mail. Aside from the printing obstacle I face, I don't even know if the IRS can accept something like that.
Is mailing truly my only option here?

If that's what the instructions say, the instructions are misleading.
Detail Reporting Exception:
As an active stock market investor, be aware that your category Box A or Box D sales without adjustments do not require Form 8949, so there is no reason to import or key in those transactions.
Instead use the "enter a summary" option to put your numbers on Schedule D Line 1a or Line 8a.
No mailing is necessary.
If you don't have a 1099-B from, for example, cryptocurrencies, your sales category is C or F.
There is no exception for these categories.
IRS supports tax software that will let you attach a PDF copy of your detail records instead of mailing on paper.
Will TurboTax do that? Ask Customer Support.
It's not clear how many megabytes your 40 lb document would require. There are size restrictions.
I know that Turbo Tax does not support adding your own PDF's searched that up a lot already.
