My 2022 college grad has been filing as nondependent since 2020 return. Can she not claim her 2021stimulus on her return because i technically can still claim her?

I read that she is eligible for a stimulus check but then i see no because she can still be claimed (even if she is not going to be).

 Ask your daughter if she received the $1,400 sometime in March or April 2021. If she did, she should have received IRS Letter 6475 to confirm the amount received.

Hello.  No my daughter did not receive any checks in 2021, that was why I was trying claim via her 2021 return.  Unfortunately that is when I dug deeper and noticed despite filing as a non dependent in 2020, she is still eligible to be a dependent on my return , making her ineligible for the check.  thanks

@NT30

if you are not going to claim her,

when big bucks are involved, she has to make a decision whether to check that box.
