My 17 year old earned 3480.47 working part time... She redeemed ee bonds earning interest of 1447.48 for total of 4927.95 does she have to file a tax return?

My 17 year old earned 3480.47 working part time... She redeemed ee bonds earning interest of 1447.48 for total of 4927.95 does she have to file a tax return?

No she doesn't have to file except to get back any withholding taken out in W2 box 2.  If she does file be sure she checks the box that says you can be claimed on someone else's return.

Did she get a W-2 or 1099-MISC for working?

Yes a w2 for the 3480.47

Since that amount is only  26.80 would you have her file? Would she get anything back if she did file? Andif she doesn't file do I have to put that on my tax return?
