That is a change from 2015. In the past, the 1099-MISC would show in both the Personal Income Summary and the Business Income summary, and it gave the appearance that the income was double-reported. If you can see your 1099-MISC in your business income, it is reported correctly.
It might be because you've already entered it in the Business Section as self-employment income.
To check,
Go to My Account.
Go to Tools.
Go to View Tax Summary.
Go to Preview my 1040.
If the amount is already on line 12, Form 1040, then that's why it's not showing up.
If this doesn't answer your question, post back to this thread.
So just to clarify if I have entered the amount of the 1099-MISC in the Wage & Income tab under 1099-MISC but it is not appear here but instead listed under the Business Items section then I am ok?
Yes, that is correct. Once you identify that the 1099-Misc is from self-employment, it will transfer over to the Business Income and Expenses section.
Mine is not showing on the 1040 preview
