Must I file a federal tax return for a irrevocable living trust that me & my wife are the grantors? We only have our primary residence in it, nothing else.

Since the trust appears to be a grantor trust with its only asset being your primary residence (i.e., no income is being generated by the trust), then you most likely do not need to file a return for the trust.
