Hello, I received 2 1095-A forms. I would like some clarification on the proper way to file them.
Form 1: Me and my wife are listed as recipients. My wife is listed as the covered individual.
Form 2: Me and my wife are listed as recipients. My 25 year old daughter is listed as the covered individual with a different policy number.
I read that I have to enter both forms into my tax return and set the allocation.
Would I need to input the allocation for both forms or just the Form 2 that has my daughter listed. I'm planning to enter 100% allocation to us.
Turbotax asks "Did you share this policy with another taxpayer who is not included in this tax return" for each form. I was only going to put "Yes" for Form 2.
Does my daughter also need to file the 1095-A separately in her own tax return? She is a student and doesn't have any income so she wasn't planning to file a return this year. Would she need to file just for this?

If your daughter is not being claimed as a dependent, then yes, she would need to file her own return and include the 1095-A on her return.
For the policy that you and your wife are listed with your daughter covered, you can select that this policy is shared with another tax payer and can allocate 0%-100% to your daughter if she is the only covered person on the policy.
I am assuming you are claiming her as a dependent. Only you need to file both forms, she doesn't need to enter anything if you are claiming her as a dependent. And if you are not allocating any of the premiums to your daughter, just skip the allocations on both forms. You can enter multiple 1095As in TurboTax. You only have to allocate the premiums IF she is claiming the credit. And dependents do not enter 1095-A on their returns at all.
No sorry I should have clarified, in this case we are not claiming her as a dependent.
