In January of 2022, I had a personal investing account with a financial advisor and moved it to m1finance. I made several trades. I then closed the account with M1finance (Marchish) and moved it to Robinhood. Again, I made several trades and then closed the account in August of 2022. Do I need to report all 3 1099s or just the most recent one from Robinhood?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
The 3 different forms 1099 from the 3 brokers report the transactions you had in 2022 with each broker.
You need to report all three forms 1099 on your tax return.
if you sold securities at a loss with one broker and bought substantially identical securities at the next broker during the wash sale period you have wash sales which you must manually compute. the brokers can't do this.
