MFJ. Me 76 yrs Spouse 65yrs. TTax return showing 27,400 for Standard Ded. Should this not be 30,000 or 28.700. What determines this correct amount and how do I change it?

2020 Standard Deduction Amounts

Single $12,400 (+ $1650 65 or older)

Married Filing Separate $12,400 (+ $1300 if 65 or older)

Married Filing Jointly $24,800 (+ $1300 for each spouse 65 or older)

Head of Household $18,650 (+ $1650 for 65 or older)

If one of you is legally blind----add $1300

The software uses the date of birth you entered in My Info---it goes by your age at the end of 2020.
