Merrill Edge - not on import list of available companies

Merrill Edge is not listed on the list of financial institutions to download the 1099 as of today?  Last year they were listed

Is this just a timing issue where the company will show up on this list in the next few weeks ?  (i thought usually all of the participating companies are listed by this time)

It's likely just a timing thing. While many tax documents arrive by January 31, some brokerages delay consolidated 1099 statements (like 1099-B) until mid-February due to account complexity. If your data isn't ready to import yet, check back in a week or two.

If you are using TurboTax Online, try importing using a different browser. Make sure any VPN or Anvi-Virus is turned off.

Unless TT is doing things differently than it has in prior years, I don't think this problem is solved yet.. ML released 1099Rs a few days ago and they say that they are ready for downloading  one day after release. Merrill is still unavailable as a FI choice for downloading info.

When Merrill says 'forms are available for downloading' they most likely mean that you can download the 1099's from your account to your computer.

The forms for 'importing' are differently coded, and many brokers don't have those ready yet.  If Merrill is not on the program's import list, that may apply to them. 

Remember that the IRS already has a copy of all your 1099's, so using the Summary Method to report totals on your tax return is perfectly acceptable.

Merrill  stated on it's website 2/1/26 that all 1099's were turned over to software companies for import, yet today is 2/10/26 and TT Desktop for Windows still does not have Merrill - Merrill Edge in its import drop down list. I bought TT so that I could download info directly, not type it in. It is about time that TT and Merrill get their act together and make this happen.

Well said!  I'm trying to access my Merrill accounts to download all the data. TT keeps asking for a 24 digit ID # from "the bottom of page 1".

I called Merrill and they have never heard of this ID #!

TT ai 'help' bot says I can always enter data manually...Really? Why would I buy TT and then enter manually?

Anybody know a work around?

When you select Merrill from the import list and Continue, another browser tab should open, then a third window to enter Sign In credentials.  If you're not getting that series of windows, if you share what you experience, we'll try to help.

It is true that since the IRS already has copies of all your 1099's the Summary Method is sufficient for them to compare totals.

as of this morning Merrill appeared and going through the new procedure for log in I am happy to report that this issue is now resolved. I was ale to import my data.

I still can not download my Merrill Tax Forms.  Its always worked fine in past years.  Anyone have a solution?

Are you using online or desktop windows? if desktop windows try clearing cache in browser. First log into ML online and make sure your forms are there. If not contact your advisor. If so download them to your computer to make sure you have them. You should have gotten them in the mail also. Next, try TT again and click on Merrill Lynch. Is that there? If so try next step, a different screen appears and asks you for log in info to ML. If this does not happen call TT on there help line [phone number removed]
