Medical expenses after health insurance coverage

$12,000 hospital bill, insurance covered three fourths of it. paying $3000 out of pocket. do I add the $12,000 to tax form or only $3000??

Medical expenses after health insurance coverage

For your medical deductions, you should only be entering the amount you paid in the calendar year (not the amount billed or what you're liable for).  If you've paid only $3,000, enter only $3,000.
