My husband claims 0 I claim one our daughter.  We again owe so much, so wanted to see if we file separately if it would save us from owing!

It's unlikely that filing separately would be better, but you can try it out at the link below.

If one spouse has a lot of deductions and the other has very little, it may benefit to file separately, but it is rare.
