Married but Filling separately with a child

Hello,

I am married but filling taxes separately for the third time.

However, by end of the 2024 I had a baby which reflects my taxes this year as one dependent. The child is with another parent.

But, my husband does not live with me for the last three years, we decided to live separately lives.

How do I proceed in this case?

Can I file my taxes this year with one dependent without causing issues on his taxes?

thabk you!

Married but Filling separately with a child

This is confusing.   Is there ONE child --  the baby  --  involved in all of this?   And does that child live with the other parent?   If so, you cannot enter anything about the child on your tax return.  The custodial parent---the parent the child lives with---can claim the child.
