Taxpayer was enrolled for 12 months (2024) in the Marketplace. Received a 1095-C for 2024 with a few months coded 2F. Employer offered health insurance but doesn't guarantee any work or hours for the year; it's periodic project work. Once an individual works at least 1 month ''full time'' hours, they will be offered health insurance without the guarantee of any work, let alone full time hours.
How are the 1095-C months coded 2F reported on form 8962? Looks like the months in question would not be included in column B (Part II lines 12-23)? Are they subject to the current repayment cap for excess ACA Marketplace credits? If not, how would taxpayer repay the months in issue?
Thank you.

A 1095C is for employer insurance. Did you mean a 1095-A for marketplace?
What if I didn't get a 1095A?
If you had health insurance through your employer and you have a 1095C, you do not enter anything about that. When it asks if you have a 1095A, you say NO and just keep moving on with your tax return. Only a 1095A for health insurance from the marketplace is entered----IF you had that kind of health insurance---also called insurance from healthcare.gov, also called "Obamacare" insurance. You do not enter a 1095B or a 1095C at all.
Hi:
Thank you for the response.
A 1095-A was received with 12 months Marketplace/ACA credits. Taxpayer was offered but did not take employer's health insurance offer because the work is intermittent project work; gaps of months between projects. A few months were considered ''full time'' work.
Employer issued a 1095-C. (3) months are coded 2F, which means ''employee'' was offered affordable health insurance for the months in question based on the W-2. Employee had full time hours in July, November, & December.
Trying to figure out how to reconcile the 2F months on 8962.
Thank you.
Hello:
Thank you for the reply.
Employer offered insurance but doesn't guarantee any work at all; it's periodic project work. One might work in March part-time, and full-time hours in July. 2024 had (3) months of full time work and the 1095-C is coded 2F for these months (meaning, I believe, that ''employee'' was offered insurance for the months in question).
Question is: are the 2F months considered ACA ineligible months for which repayment is required? If so, how is it applied on 8962?
If you work (1) month a year with full time hours, that employer is required to offer health insurance. You could work (3) months part time and (3) months full time in a year.
Hope this clears up the issue. Thank you again.
