Manual input of interest and dividends for 2024

The 2024 version forces you to electronically upload interest and dividends rather than manual entry and seeing side by side with the previous year.  Is there any way to prepare this section as before.  I do not want to wait for upload data to become available, nor have to upload from many individual sources.  This is very cumbersome and NOT user friendly.

You do not have to import interest and dividend documents electronically. You can still type them in yourself, both in TurboTax Online and Desktop versions.

When you are in the investment income section and see a screen that says, "Let's import your tax info", look at the bottom of the screen (see screenshot) and select "Enter a different way"

You will then be prompted to select a type of investment income. After you select "interest", for example, another screen comes up where you can select from different upload methods or "type it in myself:

My version of turbo tax does not have an "Enter another way" button that I can find. Only options seem to be inputting a new investment or importing from Broker.

You can delete what is there and re-enter it manually.   Here's How to Update or Delete Imported Data.

I figured out how to click past import and and reclick to get to a manual entry screen

same with mine ------ with about 5 steps you can FORCE the system to accept your typed input.  AWFUL!! this year

In order to add an item of investment income, such as interest income, assuming you are using TurboTax Online:

1. Go to Wages & Income
2. Select Investments and Savings (1099-B, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-K, Crypto) - there will be a button at the right labeled either Start or Add/Edit
3. To add a Form 1099-INT for interest income, click Add Investments
4. To enter manually instead of importing, click "Add a different way"
5. Several types of investment income appear. Click on Interest and Continue
6. Click the button, "Type it in myself" if you wish to enter it manually.

That was true for prior years.  There is an ADD A DIFFERENT WAY and/or a TYPE IT IN MYSELF.   This is NOT true in 2024 taxes.  It is absolutely horrible trying to type my investments

Typing error --- Your reply was true for PREVIOUS years of Turbo Tax.  Neither "add a different way" or "I'll type it  myself" are available.  PLEASE restore 2024 TurboTax to prior years so that we can manually enter interest and dividends.  Next attempt will be for entering Schedule D
