Made a payment on my 2018 taxes in 2018 of $1000. It is not showing up on my 1040 that I filed.

Made a payment on my 2018 taxes in 2018 of $1000. It is not showing up on my 1040 that I filed.

If you have not filed yet, manually enter the payment under the Deductions and Credits page where it says "Estimates and other taxes paid."

If you already filed and forgot to enter the payment, the IRS will eventually catch on to the fact that you overpaid, but it probably will take a few weeks.  You may get a refund (if you claimed one) and then a second check later for the overpayment.

IRS will locate this payment and apply it to 2018 taxes.
