I am filing taxes for Massachusetts (as a non MA resident). There's a section where I need support:
'Enter the non Massachusetts portion of the amount you paid during 2024 to Social security (FICA), railroad, Medicare, US or Massachusetts retirement. If you are filing as a non resident and all the income subjected to the withholdings mentioned above e.g. W-2 income or self employment income, are not Massachusetts sourced, the entire amount of deduction shown on this screen should be allocated as non-MA portion.'
I work in consulting and travelled for a few weeks in MA. Hence, I have both MA and CA in my W2. As per W-2, state wages for MA are $23169 and state taxes for MA are $1131 taxes. For CA (resident), I paid $12196 in state taxes.
What should I enter? - for the above question on the MA portion of amount paid during 2024 to social security, railroad, Medicare and so on?

FICA is 7.65% so if you earned 23,169 you would have paid 1,772 FICA tax.
