Looked at my tax return files and my new born baby was not checked off as my dependent

Be sure the birthdate is on or before 12/31/16 for your 2016 return and mark that they lived with you all year.

yes it is

it was being rejected and then we set it for the whole year and it was accepted but when we look at the paperwork orion bates is not marked as a dependent

What was the reject?  Was it possibly the SSN wasn't matching?

thats what it was saying but the SSN
number is correct

Ok, unfortunately if the return was accepted then to get the baby back on you may need to file an amended return.  That return is mailed in.  You want to be sure the name and SSN are exact to what is on the SSN card and that the birthday matches too.  Those are the 3 things the IRS looks at to verify.

with a new baby sometimes you need to submit twice with the IRS.  To do the amended return you should be able to log back in to your TurboTax account and there should be a link to file an amended return.
