When I printed out my federal tax forms, the signature area on the back of page 2 is missing. I need to file by mail and I cannot sign the 1040????

Look closer. The new “postcard size” Form 1040 prints out as two half sheets on one page. The “Sign here” spot is in the middle of the page.
