We are confused on does the question refer to the sales from the business (in which case all our sales were outside of California) or to the income we made on our regular day to day jobs? If it means my regular job, do I use our w2's to fill this in?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If you are a Resident of California, and report your Business Income on a Schedule C, that income is considered to be earned in California, since your Business Address is in California, and would be 'California source income'.
This does not include W-2 income, which states the source of the income.
Unless you actually went to another state to perform work there, all self-employment income is earned in your home state, no matter where you customers are located.

Thanks for your help. I have same this question but if the LLC did not have any income and earning for 2022( no income just expenses ) what would be the answer for this part: If "NO" was this LLC registered in California without earning......?
The answer is "yes" - your LLC was registered in California and earned no income of any kind, including source income.
