According to IRS 8960, Line 4a is supposed to be the sum of Schedule (form 1040), Line 3 and Schedule (form 1040), Line 5 and Schedule (form 1040), Line 6, but turbo tax populated Lin4a with 0. This bug cause e-file to be rejected with the error
F8960-019-06 - If Form 8960, 'NetRentalIncomeOrLossAmt' has a non-zero value, then it must be equal to sum of Schedule 1 (Form 1040), 'BusinessIncomeLossAmt', 'RentalRealEstateIncomeLossAmt' and 'NetFarmProfitLossAmt' unless all of the following conditions are true: 1) Filing status of the return is Married filing jointly or Qualifying surviving spouse and 2) Form 8960, 'Section6013gInd' and 'Section6013hInd' are not checked and 3) Form 8960, 'FilingThresholdAmt' equals 125000.

Yes, the issue was resolved and e-file was accepted. Thanks.
I filled mid march with zero in lines 4a and 4b, as per the Turbotax error. Unfortunately the IRS accepted the return. My refund never showed up and the IRS transcript suggest that the IRS computed line 4a for me (with a positive amount) and not 4b. Line 4b should have been the negative of 4a. This obviously results in higher computed taxes.
I have not heard from the IRS yet.
It looks like Turbotax has fixed the problem. Should I file an amended return?
