Just married husband still owns his home

My husband still owns his home, but has moved into mine.  He will not be selling it because his dad lives there, but does not pay rent.  My husband still pays the entire mortgage, property taxes, etc.  How do I handle this on our taxes as we will be filing jointly.  Would this be considered a second home?  Also, he has a home business that is now conducted at mine, but he still conducts some at his home as well.  How do we handle home business expenses for both homes?  Or do we have to only choose 1?  Thanks!

yes. a second home.

your statement raises issues about any HO deduction. the requirements for an HO deduction is that the area in the home must be used regularly and exclusively as the principal place of business

Yes, you can report Mortgage Interest/Property Tax that you each paid on your joint return (first and second homes).  Enter the info for both homes into TurboTax in the Deductions & Credits section.

Your spouse can have two Home Offices.  He'll need to report what % of his Business Income is allocated to each home office.

Here's instructions for reporting Multiple Home Offices.
