A 2018 return cannot be efiled ... sign the return and mail it back as directed.

If you are referring to a 2019 return and you have your 2018 AGI  ( not just W-2 forms) then you can switch to efile now if you like.

your 2018 w-2's, if that is the correct year, can only be reported on your 2018 return.  If you used TT for 2018 you can amend as needed but the return must be mailed. do not include 2018 w-2's on 2019 return.

What mailed return did you get back?  If it was a 2019 return, your W-2's do not show your AGI.  Your 2018 AGI is on your 2018 Form 1040  (your tax return)    If you in fact have your 2018 AGI from line 7 of your 2018 Form 1040, then you can try to e-file your 2019 tax return.

No other tax year can be e-filed.  A 2018 tax return (or any earlier year) has to be printed, signed , and mailed.
