Just got an offer for online version of turbo tax deluxe. It is only one federal e-file.So I have to purchase it for everyone to e-file for everyone?Can I do multi-print?

When you use online TurboTax software you get one return per fee.

Each return needs its own account and user ID.   If you use the same account and user ID for a second return, the second one overwrites the first return and it is lost forever.

Not sure what you mean by "multi-print"----when you use online software the fee is the same whether you e-file the return or mail it in an envelope.   Printing and mailing the returns does not save you $.

If you have to file tax returns for several people, using the desktop TurboTax software will probably cost less overall than using TurboTax Online, unless some of the returns are simple enough to use Free Edition Online.

Yeah, I have been using turbo tax desktop for decades.  But I have windows 10 which they are not supporting next year.  

I have one return that requires deluxe and one that I can use the free online tool. I just don't know if that will work. When I researched the online version before I was informed you could do more than one. So either they made changes or I was mis informed. 

Can I do more than one return with online deluxe, just e-file one and mail the other?

Sorry, they limit how many words you can use. The online version has one e-file. I was wondering if I could e-file one, and print the others. Smh

The Online fee is to prepare the return, whether you efile or print and mail.  Sorry.

i.e for "Online" TurboTax you must create a new account for each one you prepare.

....an entirely new UserID & Pwd for each one.

Write down which person (or couple)  belongs to each one,,,,,,,or you will forget which account belongs to who in subsequent years (That is IF you decide to use the Online software now, or in the future)

The Online version has 1 efile per account. But you can have more than 1account.   You need to pay for each account unless an account can use the Free Edition.

Online is only good for 1 return per account.  Don’t use your account or you will overwrite your return and it will be gone.  And you have to pay for each account separately so it might get expensive.   You can use the same email address for 5 accounts.  You can start another return in TurboTax Online by:

1. Logging out if you are in your account
2. Choose what TurboTax Online product you want to use for the second return
3. Create your account screen
4. Set up a new login for the second return
5. Start working on the new return

So basically you get screwed over with the online version vs desktop. Figures. With online version can I download the PDF and TurboTax datafile?

@gate99 Yes with online you will be able to create a pdf of your return and print copies of your return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.
