Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Is there a way to start from scratch on my taxes this year? Currently it is showing that I owe $6K (I have always gotten a refund before) - so I am worried.

Also thinking that if this is true, I need to update both mine and my husband's W-4. Is that something TurboTax can assist with?

Linda;  You've put in the income, but have you entered your deductions and taxes paid yet?

I try hard not to pay any attention to the number in the box until I've done all my entering.  If you still owe money, then simply start a new return.

I agree with Ba8alou, make sure you have entered everything before you check on the amount you owe.  If your situation has not dramatically changed there should not be a large difference in the amount of refund or tax owed.

However, if you want to start over here are the instructions-

As long as you haven't submitted payment, deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or registered, you can erase your return and start from scratch in TurboTax Online.

  1. Sign in and select a topic to continue your return.
  2. On the next screen, from the left-side menu, select Tax Tools, and then Clear & Start Over (select the menu icon in the upper-left corner if you don't see this menu).
  3. Answer Yes in the pop-up to confirm.
