Is there a way to remove a state (NY) from turbotax that is no longer needed?

I used NY state turbotax about 4 years ago but no longer need it.  It slows down my tax preparation because it is downloading updates for this state every time I log on.

For the "Online" software, it wouldn't/shouldn't be happening, since you have to actually initiate what states you actually want to use every year.

For the Desktop software

I'm not sure anyone has found a way to stop it entirely....other than installing desktop/download TTX on a brand new computer.

Others may have messed with various files in the TurboTax installation directory and found a way...but I don't recall having seen a definite solution yet...monitoring this Forum website for many years now.

I appreciate the response, and your answer is what I expected.  I've seen previous answers and was hoping Turbotax would have addressed this, but I'm sure they are looking for more revenue from customers regardless of whether they need these state add-ons.  A bit nefarious in my opinion.  Big tech is not benevolent. Gracias.
