No. You do not have to pay to print your 2020 return. But.. the online system in now in transition from 2022 returns to 2023 returns. Your account might be "frozen" until the transition is complete and the software for 2023 becomes available in a few weeks. You will be able to access the return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.
When 2023 online is open, then you can start a new 2023 return and enter enough information to get the side menu to open up, and then proceed to print out your past year return.
You can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $43, an actual copy of your tax return.
