Why was I charged a fee for both my state and federal return? Last year I was only charged once. Can I get a refund?

It appears as though you filed with TurboTax Deluxe this year. We offer free state filing with our Federal Free Edition. You can file for free if you have very simple taxes, but will be required to upgrade if they get more complicated. In paid versions of TurboTax, it is an additional $36.99 to file your state return.

Is there a way I can get a refund for the state portion? My taxes were very simple and not complicated at all so I shouldn't have had to do both. Please refund me if you can thank you.
