Is there a next step after I printed and mailed the return documents?
HI. You do not need to do anything further unless you are notified by the IRS that they need more from you. You will want to check the IRS where is my refund tool, so you know when they have received and accepted your return.
According to the IRS itself, the "Where's My Refund" tool (link below) should show the processing / refund status of your tax return within 24 hours after the government receives your electronically filed tax return, or 4 weeks after you’ve mailed a paper tax return.

part of the income tax filing process, and we do not issue tax refunds
despite what many people believe . . . only the IRS and your state

Finally, if you do not see an update after 6 weeks (again, according to the IRS) on their website, after that time you are requested to call them. The "Where's My Refund" tool on the website lists current contact information for the correct IRS department.
