@chetjunior , on-line search suggests that this is a TurboTax issue and is "supposed" to be fixed by 02/06. Suggestions are to refile after that date and see what happens.
It does not look like an IRS rejection code.
I have this issue as well. I spent some time on the phone yesterday with support which was a waste of time. The support rep sent me an email which included some info she found in her system. Makes no sense. "S1-F1040-080-03: This return cannot be filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on January 31st, 2026. On or after this date, open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing."
I told her that TT normally updates on Thursday which is 2/5 and she was not even aware of this fact. I have no idea what 1/31 is about.
I revisited my return and resent it to the IRS on 1/31/26 at 9:30am, as suggested by TT. Unlike the first try, it wasn't immediately rejected with the S1-F1040-080-03 error code. As of 5:07pm on 2/1/26, it's been in "PENDING" status. I guess things shut down on the weekend... Hopefully it will be accepted tomorrow. chetjunior
So, TT suggested you resubmit on 1/31? Was that someone is support?
Actually, the 1/31/26 date was shown when I logged into TT Online after it was initially bounced back with error code S1-F1040-080-03 on 1/28/26. The message said I should review the return and resubmit it on 1/31/26 or later.
This morning, after two days of being in pending status, my returns were again rejected with the S1-F1040-080-03 error code. But this time TurboTax informed me the cause of this error had been fixed. So I logged in, reviewed the income section, and resubmitted the returns. Voila! The IRS accepted the federal return within about a half hour! My state return was just accepted as well. Yippee! Although this five day fiasco's occurrence was a head scratcher for me, I do appreciate TurboTax's resolution of its cause.
Ditto! I updated TT yesterday and resubmitted my return today which was quickly accepted.
Same issue here with the same rejection code
Did you make any changes to your return or you just resubmitted and e-file?
I made no changes to mine. I just resubmitted what I had files that got rejected.
First, I reviewed the INCOME section of the federal return without changing anything. Then I resubmitted federal and state returns and both returns quickly sailed through with no problem.
