Is it ok to go ahead and file if SSA has not released their 1099SSA's? I have the figures and would like to go ahead and file instead of waiting until February.

The figures are easy to obtain from the 2022 statements.  Wondering why I have to wait until SSA puts the 1099 online.

No.  Wait a few days.  SS has recently mailed out SSA1099's and yours should arrive soon.  The IRS will not begin to accept e-files until January 23.

You don’t have to wait until February, 1099-SSA have gone out. My husband and I both received ours.  If you have the exact numbers you can enter your information, just know the IRS gets copies of the forms so what you enter must match what the IRS has.

I got  mine on Jan 10.  It should be coming soon.   And  you should wait to file incase you get any other forms you aren't expecting.  They have until Jan 31 to mail you the tax forms.  And some forms don't come until Feb like for investments.

Thanks for all the answers.  Several people have gotten them in the mail. I usually get my documents electronically.... Strange that they can go out by snail mail yet you cannot get them online.  Thanks again for all the advice.
