I'm trying to submit a tax return through Turbo Tax Premier (the Windows desktop version) and it is saying that efiling is still closed. According to Turbo Tax's website they are saying efiling is now open? The IRS has already been accepting returns. Is this a glitch on Turbo Tax's end?

E-file for 1040 tax returns opened on January 27, 2020. If you are still getting that message, you may need to update your Turbo Tax program.
If that doesn't work, please make sure that your computer shows the correct date and time.
I should have said that I was also trying to efile a 2018 tax return using Turbo Tax 2018. Can I still efile a return for 2018? Could that be a reason why it isn't working?
You have to mail in a 2018 Tax Return; you cannot Efile it.
I get the same message trying to efile my Subchapter S Corp return (1120-S) - "efiling center not yet open".
This is super frustrating, because I need a final K-1 to finalize my personal returns.
Turbo Tax just updated the federal 1120-S program yesterday; the New York State equivalent has not been updated and that return can't be completed yet. Perhaps that's why?
It seems like I should be able to efile the federal form while waiting for the NYS updates, no?
In a further development, I just received email notification from TT that the NYS S Corp forms I was waiting for are now available. However, my software is not updating automatically, and when I "check for updates" online it indicates that the NYS forms are still not available.
Now what?
Not all forms are available. Please check the status of your S Corp form availability here.
