Is a tax payment made in 2018 for 2017 taxes deductable in 2018?

My 2017 federal tax was about $1000. I filed my 2017 return in early April of 2018. At that time I wrote a check to the IRS for the full amount. Is that tax expense deductible, or can it reduce my AGI? If either are true, can you tell me where to enter that $100 payment? Thanks you

No. neither is true. FEDERAL tax payments, for tax year 2017, are not entered anywhere on your 2018 return.

State and local income  tax payments are relevant is you itemize deductions.
