IRS rejected return due and I want to file an extension instead to review new results after fixing error on system.

IRS rejected federal and State return due to dependent information still showing on return ( Turbotax advised that dependent was not eligible so I figured they would remove her information).
Once I removed her information the refund fell drastically and I want to file an extension instead to review the information with a tax professional.
