No. TurboTax and other self-prepare apps have shut down e-filing for 2021. you would probably need to use a pro to e-file. but are you sure the IRS will only accept an e-filed return since others are mailing in their returns since e-filing is closed? also have to wonder how the IRS could lose your return if it was originally e-filed and accepted. perhaps the IRS never accepted it because of some issue. if you used Turbotax you get two e-mails if filed electronically. the first confirms submission. the second reports either acceptance or rejection.
Electronic filing is preferable but you can resubmit your 2021 tax return on paper via US mail.
It will take longer.
If you have a letter from the IRS, follow the instructions.
How do you know that the IRS lost your return? Where did you get that information? Are you sure they lost it---or are you just assuming that?
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”
Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself. TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.
It is too late to e-file a 2021 return. If your 2021 return has not been filed, you have to send it in by mail.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
