IRS is asking if I filed this tax return. I am not sure how to respond since I did ask TurboTax to file the return. How should I respond to this question?

The letter asks specifically: If you did not file the tax return referenced above, check the box below and send us a copy of this letter. Then there are brackets which are followed by the statement ... [ ] No, I did not file this tax return. While I supplied all the supporting documents to TurboTax my understanding is that I did not file this return with the IRS. Am I correct in that supposition? Should I place a check mark in the brackets?

No. Since you filed the tax return using TurboTax, then you would not check the box saying you did not file the return.

You DID file your tax return. You used TurboTax to file it, but YOU filed it.
