IRS error code FW2-505-01: EIN issued after the tax year. Can I file electronically, or must I file paper return?

My 2021 federal tax return rejected with error code FW2-505-01: Form W-2, Line B employer EIN was issued after the tax year.  Is it still true that I need to file a paper return? It sure would save a lot of work for me and the IRS (and the state dept of revenue) if my return can be processed electronically. I am a household worker, and my employer applied and received the EIN in February 2022, and I am attempting to file my 2021 taxes.

That is an IRS requirement evidently, that you can't e-file because of the federal ID number being issued after year-end. There is no way around that unfortunately.
