IRS challenge on my turbotax submission in 2017

I failed to report my wife's form 1099R IRA for $6,033.29-$603.32 tax on our joint return for 2017.  I received a letter from the IRS that  I owe $7,272 for what they say is $24,745 that they say I did not report.

I would like to admit my mistake but I do not want  to send them $7,272.  What did I do?

the notice should give details of what wasn't on the filed return.  is it correct? 

do not delay.    it appears that besides the unreported pension, the IRS is claiming another $18,000 or so in unreported income.
